Boys and their trucks…the rumors are all true.  Starting as a mom of two girls and now having a boy, this is new territory for me.  And at 18 months old, the love of cars, trucks and pretty much all vehicles is no joke.  Finding great toys, books and games is easy, but supporting this obsession in what they wear and how they live–uh, not so easy.  Inspired by this super stylish boys room featured on One Kings Lane, these vintage truck prints are ideal from baby to big boy.  As for clothing, for some reason most brands like to put super sized trucks on their clothing, but we prefer a little more subtlety like this embroidered romper that can be worn alone or paired with a collared shirt.  Is there such a thing as trucker chic (wink, wink)??  xx, Christin

We have a feeling ballet-inspired clothing is going to be a big trend for fall.  No one does ballet-inspired better for girls than Tutu du Monde.  These dresses are beautiful enough to wear as a party dress and well-made to take the wear-and-tear of the daily dress-up routine.  Add some ballet flats and a denim jacket and you’re girl is ready to dance into the day.—CC

We both travel with this airplane harness restraint for our littles.  Not a flight goes by when someone doesn’t inquire as to where we’ve found them! The concept behind Cares Kids Fly Safe is that children are restrained during take-off, landing and taxi…but we think they are also genius for keeping kids in place for all the in between! This harness is  the answer once you no longer fly with a carseat to keep your child in their seat without wiggling out of the seatbelt. The handy carrying bag also works for stashing away things like headphones.  Two thumbs (way) up for this product.—CC

We love this assortment of vintage Hawaiian floral swim trunks from Crewcuts.  Pair them with a relaxed and casual shirt and be luau ready just off the beach or from the pool.  Something extra hip and cool when boys wear just the right floral print with bright colors.  –CC

Our dear friend Alex came to us a few months ago with a chic challenge…”what should I have my 2, almost 3 year old wear for his baptism?”  She wanted something traditional, but that would be comfortable and easy for her vivacious little boy.  We suggested this button on boy suit that has the simple style of a jon jon with a heirloom quality lace edge that allows him to to be suitable for the occasion while remaining all boy.  These knee socks and white oxford walkers are the perfect finish that are totally wearable without being fussy or overly fancy.  Congratulations George Grey on your special day–what a ‘chic child’!  -CC

By the way, Alex happens to be the chicest mama around with a company that you absolutely need to know about.  Bitsy’s Brainfood is pure genius, totally delicious and a dream-come-true for any mother looking to nourish their children with a healthy diet.  Shop their collection of products here.

“Until now, the only water shoes that existed were bulky and technical in design.”  Michael and Libby of Sea Star “set out to make a shoe that is chic enough to wear for a walk on the beach, on a boat or in town, and that also functions as a quick-drying and protective water shoe.”  A modern version of the classic espadrille design with a neoprene upper and rubber “boat-shoe” sole.  These shoes have a nice comfy snug fit that does not leave blisters or sore spots.  They are function meets fashion styled perfectly with swimwear or a casual summertime outfit.  They come both in adults and children, and definitely have us ‘sea’ing stars.  –CC

An owner of one of our favorite children’s boutiques recently said that we are going to be seeing a lot of flamingos and pineapples motifs next year.  Lets get a head-start on things with this pretty-in-pink flamingo dress from Atsuyo et Akiko.  We are always happy to embrace a little pink-theme, so accessorize away with this look!—CC
