When our friends at GapKids asked us to help spread the word about their new marketing campaign, we of course knew you’d love to know the happenings at one of our fave Kids’ sites and clothing lines…Gap once again proves their vision and creative lead by changing up the traditional casting call with the launch of a program called ‘Kids Being Kid.’  Parents from around the world can upload photos of their children via social media channels for a chance to be featured in a GapKids 2015 Marketing campaign! Here’s how it works:

  • Parents are asked to submit three charismatic photos of their children between now and September 15th to Each parent will then receive a socially sharable video of their child’s photos that encapsulates the GapKids aesthetic to share with their social media channels.
  • Gap will also be hosting GapKids Class of 2014 Picture Day on Saturday, August 16th from 10am – 4pm at Gap stores across the country. Families are invited to head in for a day of picture perfect fun with professional photographers on-site to capture moments of customers’ kids to enter them for a chance to win a starring role in GapKids Class of 2014.
  • Additionally, Gap has just launched “the cutest place on the Internet,” the new @GapKids Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest channels. This social network allows parents to explore the brand’s series of style collectives, brand moments, inspirational content, and of course, adorable kids.

For more information, please visit… keep us posted of your participation, we’d love to help share the pics of your adorable (chic) children!—CC

Every season we look to Bonpoint as the pinnacle of fashion for children.  Though never ‘trendy,’ they are always spot on with certain colors and themes we then see throughout other childrens’ collections.  This season Bonpoint is filled with a muted pallate of greys, with pops of colors like yellow, blush, aubergine and deep red.  Polka dots are abundant as is plaid, mouliné knits and fair isle.  Of course it wouldn’t be bonpoint without lovely winter liberty prints! Take a cue from this season’s collection and start making your wish list.—CC

We’ve written about Miss Mochila bags before, as both of us and our daughters have these fab, summery bags.  Walking into a stylish little store in the Hamptons, I spotted the tiniest Mochila bag perched on a shelf… just perfect for a little girl (and a much more appealing price point).  Searching on the internet revealed that one of our favorite site, Shop Latitude has a great variety of these little purses.  A wonderful array of color options and just large enough to sling cross-body with a snack, and whatever other little tiny treasures your daughter likes to carry—we love ‘em!—CC

These blue plaid shorts from Baby CZ are a great purchase for this time of year.  Still plenty of time to wear them, and will even transition into fall with a sweater.  Perhaps inspired by yesterday’s post with patterns of indigo, but we’re loving these shorts with a chambray Guayabera shirt (from Old Navy!) and topped with a fedora.  Still plenty of sizes left for these wear-all-the-time shorts!—CC

Mixing prints is a fun way to change up those not-so-basic pieces in your child’s closet.  These Boy + Girl shorts ( which are so great, btw…a wide bottom almost like a skirt, and on sale!) mixes perfectly with a diamond-print top.  This outfit would be just the ticket for a day at camp or any summer day where the activities can go from playground to swimming.  So go ahead and mix it up… there’s nothing wrong with a little pattern play.—CC

This is the time of year that calls for smart end-of-summer shopping.  Two key components in taking advantage of all the sales…1) make sure pieces are sized to fit for next spring/summer and 2) look for pieces that transition well into early fall.  Simple patterns like stripes, neutral colors like navy, and items that layer well all make for great finds.  These looks from Morgan & Milo are perfect…add a grey hoodie to the boys outfit or a jean jacket or navy cardigan to the girls, and you have a few looks that work just as great in August as they do in September.  –CC

You may have picked up a 3-pack of these panties at your favorite children’s boutique, but you may not know that the brand, Esme, has so much more to offer.  Underwear, tanks, pajamas, leggings and more…all made of the super yummy cotton, modal and spandex combination that has that ‘next to nothing’ feel.  These are a new CC favorite…we know you will feel the same.

Inspired by our dear friend, loyal reader and Chic Contributor Samantha Mollett‘s little boy Beckett…we recently fell in love with this simple white linen shirt he was wearing called a Guayabera.  You have most likely seen them before but finding them outside of a trip to Cuba or Mexico is pretty tough.  So we went on a mission to find an online resource for CC readers…and we scored…!  Not only do they have the boys shirts, but dresses for girls too.  This simple chic style is pure summer and a great look for these upcoming warmer weeks.  –CC
