This past Saturday was the 17th annual Super Saturday event in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, hosted by Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan and sponsored by QVC.  Christin and I were fortunate to be able to attend with our oldest daughters for the festivities in Water Mill, New York.  Besides shopping for a great cause (its called the world’s largest fashion garage sale), it is quite the social happening with plenty of entertainment for the whole family, and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon among friends.  We so happy to catch up withsome of our own favorite childrenswear designers among the sea of adult fashion and accessories. Childrenswear brands in attendance included Anais & I, Bonpoint, Egg by Susan Lazar, Il Gufo, Mini Melissa Shoes and Pennymeade Below are some candids from the event and you can see even more pics and learn about this fantastic shop-for-a-cause on ocrf.org/supersaturday. This is quite an interesting idea… take the classic tie-shoulder dress and discover the infinite possibilities that the brand “Infinity” has come up with to wear it.  Each dress can work so many different ways and is one size fits all from 4-10.  Clever, right?  Bustled up with an uneven hemline, maxi style, halter, it goes on.  Kind of reminds us of our favorite sarong.  Even the simpler styles (our preference) allow for creative styling and will grow as your daughter does.—CC

After last summer of being in the pool every day, I witnessed pieces of my daughter’s hair  turning shades of green.  This summer I was determined to keep her (now even longer) hair blonde and angelic.  After some sought-out hair care advice, I believe I’ve settled on the perfect routine. Same applies for boys with light blonde hair, as well as both girls and boys with darker shades for generally keeping hair healthy from sun and water. Also included is a favorite apres-pool, outdoor shower seaweed soap. Hope you find these suggestions helpful….so far, so blonde! XxNatalie

We love these sunwashed slip-on sneakers from Gap mainly for their ease, but also for their ‘cool cat’ style.  And at $13.99, they make the perfect ‘disposable’ shoe for the rest of summer and into early fall.  But beware, these are always the ones that become the favorite, so we suggest buying more than one pair.  –CC

We have lately become obsessed with the Zimmermann sisters from Australia and their care-free easy-to-wear designs.  Pieces like this and this have had us smitten all summer long for ourselves, but when we discovered their children’s line…we were officially over the moon!  The same beautiful prints, flattering and wearable  silhouettes, and looks that can be worn with such ease.  –CC

Here comes the sun…for all you mothers with cranky, teething, fountain-like droolers…we have an old-school remedy that has made a big return.  A dear friend and loyal reader swears this amber necklace has made all the difference with her 8 month old.  It’s effectiveness is due to the high content of succinic acid.  BoucyBabyBoutique.com explains “Succinic acid is a natural pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, and central nervous system calmer.  It is so effective on babies and small children because it simultaneously eases their pain while also having a strong soothing effect on their nervous system – all with zero side effects!  Used for centuries in Europe, Amber’s natural anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties are released safely and naturally when worn against the skin.”  Now that is a gamble we will take!  –CC

Who’s not!  We all love stripes…especially these subtle more strie-like ones that almost look heathered.  This hoodie from Tea Collection is as wearable as it gets.  The ideal piece to add as a layer or wear by itself…and at this price,  we’ll take one in each color please!  –CC

This time of year it seems we are ditching our handbags for totes.  It makes being prepared for the days outtings that much easier and it allows you to consolidate all of your take-alongs into one (diaper bags, handbags, day clutches).  JCrew has a perfect array for both mother and daughter and some of the girls’ versions are on sale for under $20! We recommend getting a chic little canvas pouch like this one to hold your items like cell phones and wallet and makes them easy to find! ‘Tote’lly great, right?—CC

Sometimes the seemingly simpliest pieces of clothing can be difficult to find.  Blazers can be one of those pieces that is either a hit or a miss.  This Boden version of a cotton summer blazer is about as good as it gets.  Think navy blue stripes make this blazer preppy, versatile and the style is totally appropriate for little boys.  There are only a few sizes left (as its on sale), so we say get it before its gone!—CC
