Our good friend Lindsey Berns (aka designer of one of the coolest kids clothing lines around) has been saving up her vintage denim for this moment.  She’s re-purposing vintage Levi’s and Osh Kosh for this season’s eponymous line featuring hand-made, suede appliqué, embroidery, Swarovski crystals and metals studs (!!!).  Its selling out like crazy and she will be featuring new pieces throughout the season.  Consider us captive…we can’t wait to get our hands on these one-of-a-kind pieces.  Shop the entire collection HERE.—CC

Are your kiddos always asking for those hipster tees…maybe one that is super sparkly, with funny animals or crazy sayings?  Well there is a place and a time for these tees and Boden has the best selection that will appease your child’s need with parent approval as well.  These tees also make a great layer under a chunky cardigan or paired with a floral skirt.  It’s tee time!  –CC

We are totally blushing over Marie Chantal’s fall girls collection.  We love how these pieces can be worn just a casual as they can be dressy.  The beauty of blush is completely neutral, yet on trend and works beautifully with your traditional fall colors such as shades of brown, navy and grey.  These are your essential investment pieces for the season and will stand the test of time to pass on to future generations.  –CC

Fall is officially here, and apple and pumpkin picking are in full swing.  This time of year is all about the layers and ones with versatility.  When it comes to boys, we like no fuss and colors and patterns that can easily mix with the rest of their wardrobe.  You can’t go wrong with a few navy, red and grey staples…here are some of our favorites from Egg by Susan Lazar that will work all season long and into the winter with plenty of style to boot.  –CC

…and I will not carry one either.  Most of us would choose fashion over function, but why can’t you have both?  Well, you can!  Life In Play has created the ultimate diaper bag alternative.  An insert sized small or large to fit right inside your favorite tote bag that instantly adds function.  And it comes in several colors so you can match the lining.  Not to mention the ability to take out the packed insert and instantly change bags on a dime.  Viola – the ultimate solution!  –CC

Hard for me to say, but my baby boy is almost 21 months old.  Having experience with two girls before his arrival, my husband and I often find ourselves in unfamiliar situations.  He has been sleeping with a regular blanket in his bed for several months now, and all of sudden he is climbing out of his crib…yikes!  Putting him back in the sleep sack is working like a charm…so far.  Unfortunately he has outgrown all the adorable plush ones I had for him, and the alternatives are not near as lovely.  Enter Smidge – the most beautifully hand made sleep sacks in an incredible array of prints that come in a large enough size to accommodate my 32 lb. baby boy with room to grow.  Lacy Noble is the designer and seamstress behind the brand working on her grandmother’s vintage sewing machine; and she has an Instagram page well worth following.  Not to mention, she has done blankets, moses baskets and other custom pieces.  We think this is more than just a ‘smidge’ worth talking about.  xx, Christin

p.s. Amazing baby gift to match the nursery.

I love gorgeous has long been a favorite brand of ours (Natalie’s daughter Sloane wore it as a flower girl!) After 10 years of making (gorgeous) girls’ clothing, they’ve launched their new brand inclusive of boys as well…Wild and Gorgeous.  Its a must-see for their inaugural season, so take a walk on the wild side.—CC

Ballerina-inspired clothing is twirling all over this fall! Unfortunately we missed out on our size in these lace-up ballet shoes, but luckily your daughter can dance her way into this style with the denim version from Zara.  J’adore!—CC

In addition to planning our back-to-school shopping for our children, of course we have our eye on some fall updates for ourselves.  Accessory shopping is always a favorite for this time of year and hats, shoes and wraps top our lists.  We’re also looking for some fresh beauty updates, and of course getting back into our work-out routine with kids in school.   Happy September Shopping!—CC

One things for sure this fall…luxe fabrics are certainly in, and your children’s wardrobes are no exception.  We like to focus on accessories for fall because they are inevitably the first items we need to purchase once school is back in swing.  We are loving all the rich, velvety fabrics for fall and these boots are a perfect execution of trendy meets practical.  Add this crazy cool Mongolian Goat bag with a pop of pink and you have the texture box checked ✔️.—CC

Lands End has always been a good resource for basics, but this season it seems as though they have stepped up their style a bit to be more sporty and versatile.  All of these pant styles are key staples for the season and can take a serious beating with their “iron knee” reinforcement.  From lightweight tees to fleece lined sweatshirts, we deem this collection essential for boys of all ages.  We love it when basics are not SO basic.  –CC

As sweet and whimsical as the classic tale and song is Misha and Puff, a line of hand knitted fashions and accessories from baby to adult.  A slight vintage feel with a modern and timeless approach, these hand dyed marino wool knits are super dreamy.  We especially love this sunsuit in confetti cake…slightly reminiscent of a 70’s pattern, with loads of style and charm.  We especially love it styled with the colored tights, classic mary janes and hair bow.  Such a cutie pie!  –CC

We have said goodbye to another wonderful summer and are looking forward to a super chic fall.  School is in session and we are back in the routine.  As part of prepping for back to school, we always grapple with the decision of what shoes?  How do we find ones that we like, our kids like and work for the school.  Most schools have some sort of requirement when it comes to shoes…whether it be style, color, material, etc.  Our school requires sneakers/athletic shoes on some days for the younger grades and all days for the older ones, and prefers them to be mostly navy blue to go with the uniforms.  Ever tried finding a basic pair of navy sneakers in the rainbow assortment of patterns and colors that occupy the shelves these days?  And ones for your girls that don’t look “boyish”.  Well, a most stylish friend and new mom at our school recently shared with me her creations on Nike ID and we quickly followed suit.  I customized two pairs of mostly navy shoes for my girls with a splash of color, each with their own touch, one with their initials and the other with those of our school.  Not to mention the adorable creations for those who don’t have to wear a uniform, but need cute athletic shoes to go with their fall wardrobe…I am thinking maybe one soft/neutral pair and one to go with more primary or fall colors?  Genius!  xx, Christin

We always like to take these last two weeks of August to bid farewell to summer and spend time with our families.  Whether back at school or on holiday, we hope you take time to enjoy every last experience of summertime.  From poolside popsicles to endless beach days, past bedtime ice cream runs, sailing, evening swim, sleep in, backyard bbq with friends, sleepovers, carnivals, clam bakes, bike rides, watch the sunrise and the sunset…cram it all in and cherish every moment.  Take this time to make memories with family and friends and celebrate this wonderful season of summer–see you in September.

We all know and love Hanna Andersson for their basics, but we especially love their not so basic stripes.  To sleep both in and on are both a great way to make a simple statement.  Stripes can be so classic and/or stylish depending on how you choose to style them.  We also love the versatility of separates, pants, shorts and one pieces for all kinds of finicky preferences and sleeper types.  The perfect way to show your true stripes.  –CC
