At last! We are so thrilled to announce CC’s launch of e-commerce. A far cry from your typical online shopping experience, we’re offering limited-edition pieces, exclusives, previews, and more, but act quickly—each sale will be live for just two weeks! We would be ever so grateful if you could pass this news along (see the “save/share” section below, making this very easy for you to email the link to friends and share via Facebook & Twitter).  We need your help to virally spread the word to anyone and everyone you know!

To kick things off properly, we’re excited to offer a curated assortment of Spring styles from miss b small, created by Busy Bees.  The exclusive collection features plenty of preppy-chic must-haves for your little one—from special occasion pieces to striped basics to take you into spring. Get it exclusively on CC first before it becomes available to the public later this season!

Founded by two friends and mothers, Maryam Barrett and Genevieve Chapman, Busy Bees is all about special yet wearable fashion that’s classically inspired, with a modern twist. Consisting of everything from special ocasssion wears to playwear, no wonder it’s beloved by children and parents alike!

CC: Given that Busy Bees was somewhat of a departure from your previous work in PR, how did you discover room in the market for a brand like Busy Bees?

BB:  Working in the fashion industry, we recognized the standards of style, quality and attention to detail.  As publicists we were launching brands and reinventing others, producing fashion shows, speaking with editors and consulting with our clients   Our PR experience was the perfect training ground for our endeavor into launching a clothing brand.   After both having children of our own, we discovered a void in the marketplace for classic children’s clothing with a modern twist, and thus Busy Bees was born!

CC: Since your launch in 2009 how has Busy Bees the brand grown? Have you added new territories, categories, etc?

BB: We spent the first year traveling the country and hosting trunk shows at the homes of friends and fashionable mothers.  The experience was invaluable because we were able to meet our customers and learn directly about the clothing they wanted for their children. We heard over-and-over from mothers that they dressed their daughters in special pieces from their own childhood, and that’s what we hope Busy Bees will become for our customers; timeless styles that are as relevant now as they will be for generations to come.   Today the brand is sold at top specialty boutiques across the country and in four continents.  Most recently, we added Pima cottons knits from Peru and accessories such as belts and scarves to the mix.

CC: We are honored to be the first boutique to carry the miss b small line. What inspired this collection?

BB: Our miss b collection is new for Spring 2012 and inspired by iconic women like Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy, whose sense of personal style transcends generations.  After an overwhelming response from our customers and retailers, we decided to create a small collection of miss b pieces sizes 2-6 and we are excited to share them first with Chic Child customers!

CC: What are your favorite pieces from the miss b small capsule that Chic Child is offering?

BB: The Sabrina cap sleeve shift is a personal favorite, it’s classic-chic yet age appropriate, perfect for dressier occasions and other special gatherings.  A bonus about this dress is that the cotton embroidery fabric is machine washable and fuss-free!  Our soft spun tees in nautical stripes are another top pick as they are great basics and we love the white eyelet shorts.  The combo makes for fashionable playwear.

CC: Just like us, you’re both friends and former colleagues.  What are the joys and challenges of designing a collection with your best friend?

BB: Fortunately, our aesthetics complement each other, so the process runs quite smoothly.  Our biggest challenge is editing the collection down to the top 30-40 styles.  We have too many ideas! Lucky for us, there is always next season!
