Given that summer is essentially history (sigh), we are seizing the opportunity to reflect on the style scene of the Hamptons, where we’ve spent the better part of the summer. The East End is known for stunning beaches, Manhattan-quality restaurants, and glam parties (that we attend only from time to time these days!). Naturally, there is also some pretty epic shopping, for children as well as adults. Check back in every day this week for our favorite Hamptons boutiques—and enjoy the last few moments of summer!—CC

Pink Chicken – Amagansett

You’re already well aware that Pink Chicken is a CC fave, for both girls and boy baby gifts. We had the pleasure of sitting down with founder and designer Stacey Fraser at her must-visit Amagansett boutique, a quant little space filled with Stacey’s colorful, bohemian designs as well as add-ons like jewelry and drool-worthy Victorian boots that compliment her collection.

CC: The Amagansett vibe perfectly complements your aesthetic, but why did you pick this town as the location for your first boutique?

SF: I’ve had a home in the Hamptons for seven years, but I’d been coming here with my family for years before that. I’ve always loved the laid-back atmosphere here, and in particular, I’ve always been a fan of the site of this store. About three years ago, I was driving by, and noticed that the store was available to rent. That was it!

CC: How do you find the pieces you add into the Pink Chicken mix?

SF: The shop is small, so I only need a few special items. At trade shows, I’ve discovered a few great lines like Atsuyo et Akiko accessories and Siaomimi shoes. I have fun buying a few of my favorite pieces each season. The brands change from year to year, depending on what I’m loving, but I’m always looking new backpacks.  This year, we’re carrying the Fjällräven collection.

CC: You recently added separates, like bottoms and printed tops, to your collection.  What do you think every little girl should have in her closet?

SF: I launched Pink Chicken as a dress collection, but my customers—and my daughters!—loved my leggings and liked the ease of wearing knits. The new pieces I’ve introduced allow for mixing and matching; they look great under dresses or worn on their own. The leopard vest has been flying out of the store; it looks great with everything.  Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
