After 10 years working as a fashion editor, I believe in buying beautiful, pricier “special” pieces while counting on the mass-market stores for basics. That philosophy also applies to my daughter, Sasha. This summer, we’ll spend a lot of time at the beach, and here’s what she’ll be wearing:
Whenever she grows out of these hoodies, I buy another in a new color.
It’s too bad that bubbles don’t come in larger sizes! This sundress captures the same feel—and the unique print makes it worth the price. I’m always a sucker for pique and ric rac trim!
Blue and white is one of my favorite color combinations for girls. This top looks great over little white shorts!
The crab print is an homage to my husband, who grew up in Maryland. These are great on their own or worn underneath dresses.
I have a lot of family in Mexico, and whenever they visit, they bring Sasha the cutest Puebla-style dresses and tops that make for great cover-ups. These capture the vibe.
Love this swimsuit! I just wish it came in my size… A sunhat is a must—and white matches everything. Finally, I always keep a rashguard on hand—it’s so much easier than constantly reapplying sunscreen at the beach.
With the long winter we’ve endured on the East Coast, I have never been more ready for summer. Enjoy!
