As a mother to two boys, Clarke and Halsey, and also co-founder of the clothing line Veronica Beard, I put a lot of thought into dressing my children. My boys’ style tends to be similar to their father’s: a mix of jeans, boots, and a button-down. Comfort is key, but my guys look anything but boring.

Our typical weekends include a whole slew of activities—and almost as many wardrobe changes. This time of year, ice skating at the Standard Hotel in NYC’s Meatpacking District is de rigueur. Brands like crewcuts and Petit Bateau are staples, and I love to layer on more stylish (but skate-able!) pieces for a unique look. Hoodies are also key, especially for those moments when they refuse to wear a hat!

I love an reason to dress them up. Lunch with their grandparents, (another weekend tradition), is the best one. The boys are always excited to don a Dad-like blazer, so Ralph Lauren and crewcuts are my go-tos.
